About CogniVue

CogniVue specializes in programmable System-on-Chip (SoC) products, delivering industry-leading programmable video and imaging solutions with differentiated features for low power, small footprint and cost-sensitive devices. CogniVue SoC, software and intellectual property products capture, analyze, and render superior video and images for smart cameras used in automotive vision systems and smart video monitoring markets.

CogniVue has had tremendous success with its low power, small footprint programmable processors. A wide customer base including industry leaders in the mobile phone market space, dozens of consumer electronics manufacturers and a leading automotive manufacturer have selected CogniVue technology and software solutions for their products sold worldwide. Leveraging APEX™, a patented parallel processor foundation technology, and an extensive suite of hardware and software intellectual property, CogniVue is now developing programmable SoCs called Image Cognition Processors (ICPs). In addition to capturing image and video information, CogniVue ICPs are capable of extracting application-specific information from a scene and interpreting the image data to make decisions or take actions based on the extracted data. With pattern recognition, detection and classification algorithms running on ICPs, smart cameras can detect objects and people at the rear of a vehicle and measure distance to alert the driver of an impending collision, or even recognize human hand gestures to control channel selection of a television, for example.

Founded in 2005 by MtekVision Co. Ltd of South Korea, CogniVue continues its strong working partnership as an affiliate. CogniVue is strategically focused on developing higher performance and differentiated solutions in programmable imaging and pattern recognition/detection for smart camera systems.

CogniVue is a privately-held fabless semiconductor company with its headquarters in Ottawa-Gatineau.
