CogniVue supports the ability for developers to create custom primitives and algorithms executing on APEX using APEX BuildToolsTM. Newly created functions are exposed through the Image Cogntion Library (ICL) interface, similarly to the existing primitives supplied with ICP SDK. Components of the APEX BuildTools include:

• APU Compiler
• Linker
• Instruction Set Simulator
• Debugger
• Documentation and Code Samples

The GNU or ARM® RealView® Development Suite (RVDS 4.0) complier is required to build and run the APEX software on CogniVue products. For in-circuit debugging, Amontec JTAG debugger and Trace32 from Lauterbach are supported.
