Anticholinergic Drug Exposure and the Risk of Dementia

It is a well-known fact that AD has been linked to decrease of acetylcholine in the brain in addition to the plaques and tangles. Anticholinergic medicines have short-term cognitive adverse effects, but it is uncertain whether long-term use of these drugs is associated with an increased risk of dementia.
